Philadelphia Forward Wins "Pepperpot" Public Relations Award

The Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America selected Philadelphia Forward to receive a "Ladle" for Public Affairs at the 2004 Pepperpot Awards in recognition of the "100 Days And Thousands Of Voices For Tax Reform" effort.

To win the local public relations equivalent of the Oscar award, we submitted the push for tax reform:

Philadelphia Forward’s efforts to educate the public about the Tax Reform Commission’s recommendations created a constituency for change that successfully pushed for passage of significant tax reform legislation.  An incredible display of public voice resulted in law that will improve Philadelphia’s ability to attract and retain residents and employers.

We created Philadelphia Forward to make change, not to win awards, but it is very gratifying that we are not only having great success promoting policies that make sense for Philadelphia -- we are being recognized for excellence in our work.  To think that our efforts were judged to be among the best out of all of the advertising companies and public relations firms in the area is very gratifying.
