Daily News Editorial Says Yes Tax Reform No Summit

Today (September 14th), the Mayor will convene a "Philadelphia 21st Century Economic Development Summit" where invited guests will work to create a framework for an economic development blueprint for Philadelphia.  Today's Daily News editorial gives a pretty good critique of this effort stating, "The ultimate goal is to draft an economic development blueprint for the city....we thought we had one of those in the three-volume, 500-page final report of the Tax Reform Commission."  The editorial concludes, "It's hard to see how any ideas that come out of tomorrow's all-day session would be workable without the first step of getting rid of the taxes that keep business from moving here."  (Full editorial)
